Yi-Hsiu Liu 
Yi-Hsiu Liu has been playing and teaching violin professionally since 2000. Classically trained in violin and piano, Yi-Hsiu believes music could enrich people’s lives and enjoys working with all ages and all levels. Native of Taipei, Taiwan, Yi-Hsiu is the 1st place winner of Plymouth Music Competition in 2007 and the recipient of the Distinguished Scholarship of the Taiwan National Science Council in 2002 for her research. As a passionate violinist, she performs in Orchestra of Indian Hill, the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra and numerous chamber ensembles in Boston. Received her MM from the Boston Conservatory, Yi-Hsiu is currently pursuing her DMA at Boston University.
Angel Valchinov 
Mr. Valchinov is at the forefront of the violin world. Conductors he has performed with have commented: “His Beethoven Concerto is stellar: performed in the only way it should be played”; “His Dvorak Concerto is incredibly beautiful, one of a kind”. America recognized him by giving him a Green Card, based solely on his artistic ability and promise. He performs with orchestras in the US and Europe, serves as a concertmaster of several orchestras in the Boston area, and has an active private teaching studio. His travels have taken him to many European countries, as well as US cities. Bulgarian National TV has made a documentary about him, and he has also been featured on a number of television stations across the US. Mr. Valchinov has also performed for Governor Deval Patrick (MA) and Mayor Thomas Menino (Boston). His teachers include Aaron Rosand, Naoko Tanaka (The Juilliard School), Sergiu Schwartz (adjudicator at major international violin competitions), and Yuri Mazurkevitch (long-time pupil of David Oistrakh).
In May of 2008, Mr. Valchinov performed all six of H. W. Ernst’s Polyphonic Etudes - a rare feat. In March of 2009 he performed the Dvorak Concerto at Jordan Hall in Boston, with the Boston Civic Symphony.
Han Soo Kim 
Violinist, Han Soo Kim is an award-winning and internationally accomplished artist who has performed to critical acclaim in North America, Europe, and Asia. He has been praised by many audiences around the world for his passion, sensitivity, and charisma. His knowledge and versatility allow him to perform a diverse mix of musical styles ranging from the standard works to avant-garde contemporary repertoire.
Dr. Kim has concertized extensively as a solo performer, duo-recitalist, and chamber musician in over a dozen countries abroad, recently including Canada, Cuba, England, France, Italy, Korea, Mexico, and Taiwan. In the United States, he has performed in some of the nation’s most prominent venues including Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Weill Recital Hall and Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall, Cutler Majestic Theater, Jordan Hall, Kaufmann Concert Hall, The Kennedy Center, and Staller Center. Performances have also led him to world renowned conservatories, music schools and festivals including Académie Internationale de Courchevel, Columbia University, Le Domaine Forget International Music Festival, The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes College, Meadowmount School of Music, Morningside Music Bridge, Musicorda, New England Conservatory, and Stony Brook University. He has appeared as a soloist in concerto performances with orchestras including works by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Prokofiev, Saint-Saens, as well as six contemporary world premieres. He has collaborated with world renowned artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Emerson String Quartet, and members of the International Sejong Soloists. He regularly performs on violin but also enjoys playing on viola.
Dr. Kim has earned the highest degree in violin performance, the Doctor of Musical Arts under a fellowship grant. His education includes violin performance degrees from the prestigious The Juilliard School as a merit scholarship recipient under the tutelage of the venerable pedagogue, Professor Sally Thomas. He has had extensive chamber music studies with distinguished artists including Emerson, Guarneri, and Juilliard String Quartets. He has also had piano and conducting studies. He has held prestigious scholastic positions including violin faculty and Director of Strings, and has also been invited to adjudicate numerous competitions, recently including the New York International Music Competition where he served as the Chair. His passion for sharing musical knowledge and experience to younger musicians has taken him to many different parts of the world. As an avid educator, Dr. Kim has been invited to give lectures, workshops, and master classes on technique, innovative practice methods, and performance. In New York, he has taught classes at Brooklyn College, Stony Brook University, and Pre-Colleges of The Juilliard School and Mannes College.
Dr. Kim maintains a close musical relationship with his sister Dr. Hanui Kim, a cellist, and his dear colleague and pianist, Mr. Jie Roger Luo, who he has been collaborating with for many years. He will be releasing more albums with Mr. Luo in the near future featuring virtuosic showpieces as well as the complete Brahms Sonatas. Dr. Kim devotes a considerable amount of time to teaching in New York, travelling for lectures and master classes, as well as maintaining an internationally active recording and performance schedule.
